Taizo published a first author paper in Cell Reports (Cell Press).
Title: ER proteostasis regulators cell-non-autonomously control sleep.
Hibiki (2nd year student, Ph.D. Program in Humanics, University of Tsukuba) received the Out standing Presentation Award at the Forum for Graduate School Educational Reform 2022.
Poster Session for Graduate Students
Category: Interdisciplinary Research
Title: Analyses of the neural bases of individual differences in behavioral outcomes caused by social stress
[Message from Hibiki]
I presented about my interdisciplinary research, which is a feature of the Ph.D. Program in Humanics, in the Forum for Graduate School Educational Reform. It was exciting to have discussions with people from other graduate schools.
Achievement
Shinichi (4th year student, Ph.D. Program in Humanics, University of Tsukuba) published co-author paper in Nature.
Title: Kinase signalling in excitatory neurons regulates sleep quantity and depth
Shinnosuke (4th year medical student at the University of Tsukuba) received “The Best Presentation Award, Wakate Dojo” at the Conference of NEURO2022.
The presentation title is “Does artificially increased REM sleep affect stress resilience in mice?”.
Achievement
Shinichi (4th year student, Ph.D. Program in Humanics, University of Tsukuba) published a first author paper in iScience (Cell Press).
Title: Intracellular Ca 2+ dynamics in the ALA neuron reflect sleep pressure and regulate sleep in Caenorhabditis elegans
[Message from Mr. Miyazaki]
From programming to creating genetically modified worms, it has been hard work. This project has just begun; we are trying to understand sleep regulatory mechanisms using worms.
Achievement
Hibiki (2nd year student, Ph.D. Program in Humanics, University of Tsukuba) published a first author paper in eNeuro.
Title: Long-Term Effects of Repeated Social Defeat Stress on Brain Activity during Social Interaction in BALB/c Mice
Published online April 18, 2022
Authors: Hibiki Okamura, Shinnosuke Yasugaki, Haruka Suzuki-Abe, Yoshifumi Arai, Katsuyasu Sakurai, Masashi Yanagisawa, Hotaka Takizawa and Yu Hayashi
[Message from Hibiki]
I presented a paper that included both neuroscience and image processing engineering. I believe that I could make this achievement because of the Ph.D. Program in Humanics, which is characterized by the fusion of different fields of study. It has been a valuable experience for me. I would like to thank everyone who helped me.
