Authors: Hibiki Okamura, Shinnosuke Yasugaki, Haruka Suzuki-Abe, Yoshifumi Arai, Katsuyasu Sakurai, Masashi Yanagisawa, Hotaka Takizawa and Yu Hayashi

[Message from Hibiki]
I presented a paper that included both neuroscience and image processing engineering. I believe that I could make this achievement because of the Ph.D. Program in Humanics, which is characterized by the fusion of different fields of study. It has been a valuable experience for me. I would like to thank everyone who helped me.

Shinichi (3rd year student, Ph.D. Program in Humanics, University of Tsukuba) performed a poster presentation at Materials Research Meeting (MRM) 2021 and received “Graduate Student Award “.
(December, 2021)

The presentation title is “Lipids and proteins changes during heat-shock-induced sleep detected by CARS and SHG microscopy”.

[Message from Shinichi]
I am grateful for this award. Although it was difficult to communicate with researchers in the material sciences, it gave me a good opportunity to think about how to communicate my biological research to researchers in non-biological fields.
